DOG - 5
Digital Gyro Stabilized Reconaissance Gimbal
The DOG-5 is the next generation of the combat proven DOG-3 gimbal.
The gimbal is based on 2 precise digitally microstepped step motors for pan and tilt, gyro sensors and microcontrollers for inertial stabilization, and the best available color CCD video block camera with integrated zoom lens and active DSP fine picture stabilization.
The DOG-5 is a state of the art low cost breakthrough in stabilized low weight reconaissance gimbals, for flying platforms like news coverage Robinson class Helicopters, Ultralights, mini UAVs, tethered balloons, and other patrol vehicles like UGVs, Boats, Etc ....
The DOG-5 allows smooth real time stick control and stable zooming on targets from flying platforms, comparable with heavy military style gimbals with 1/10th of the price and weight.
Development is underway with FLIR head for night vision.
